In this hands-on workshop you’ll learn the basics of stamping on metal to create personalized jewelry and accessories. We’ll discuss the necessary metalworking tools and materials needed and get right to work practicing the technique. Have fun stamping out meaningful names, dates, or your favorite inspiring or snarky sentiment.
Arm Knitting Workshop
Arm knitting is the best thing ever! You can do it anywhere and all you need are two arms and a bunch of yarn. The finished fabric is loosely knitted and drapes beautifully, perfect for fall weather. In this workshop you will learn how to cast on, knit, and bind off. By the end you will have your very own cozy knit infinity scarf or cowl.
Glass Etching Workshop
Make your own pieces of functional art as you learn glass etching, a chemical process that leaves a permanent waterproof design on the surface. Learn about multiple techniques and insider tips on getting the perfect etched design. During this hands-on class you will be provided with the materials, tools, and design stencils needed to create two personalized pint, cocktail, or wine glasses.
Block Printing Workshop
In this hands-on class, you will create your design and pattern based on basic geometric shapes, carve your stamp block, and explore printing on various materials. All materials, tools, and instruction will be provided, including items to print on including a small notebook, towel, and greeting cards.
Macrame Plant Hanger Workshop
Learn the relaxing technique of macramé, the art of tying cord into knots in such a way that creates useful and decorative shapes. You’ll learn the basics and apply your new skills to create a modern plant hanger that will bring life to a corner of your home. Once you’ve mastered the knots, there is no limit to the masterpieces you can create!
Clay Ring Dish Class
Get your hands a little dirty as you learn how to work with a natural earth clay that air dries to a hard solid. We’ll explore techniques for coloring, marbling, and adding texture while you shape two small bowls. Finish off with a sealant and these catch-all dishes will be perfect to hold your easy-to-lose jewelry or other trinkets.
Leather Mason Jar Coozie Class
Become familiar with how to stitch, rivet, and tool one of nature’s most durable and beautiful materials. You’ll leave with a unique thermal sleeve with your own design that will transform a standard mason jar into a personalized camp mug that’s perfect for hot and cold drinks!
DIY Natural Lotions and Balms Class
Come learn how to make moisturizers with all natural ingredients, including beeswax, shea butter, and coconut oil. This class is for you whether you're a DIY newbie or have already dipped a toe into making your own body products. Once you start, you'll never go back to store-bought lotion!
Beginner's Weaving Workshop
Join us to experience weaving on a wooden frame loom as we explore the variety of colors, designs, and textures of this popular fiber art. In this workshop you’ll learn the basic stitches and create a woven modern wall hanging that will add some instant charm to your space.
Beginner's Embroidery Class
Have you felt the itch to stitch? Join us for a fun and relaxing hand embroidery workshop!
You’ll learn five basic stitches while working on an exclusive modern floral or night sky pattern (your choice!) designed just for this class. We’ll also discuss hoops, needles, floss, and fabric and some options for finishing and hanging your completed piece.
DIY Bath, Bombs, Melts, and Scrubs Workshop
In this workshop, you will learn about the essential ingredients used in creating luxurious bath and body products and then create your own while customizing the scents and colors. We will make an exfoliating sugar body scrub, colorful and moisturizing fizzing bath bombs, and shower melts for aromatherapy. Along with your new stash of products, you will take home the recipes to continue making more at home.
Macrame Wall Hanging Workshop
Join us to learn and practice the fundamental macrame knots that can be used to create decorative and functional shapes, while you create a modern wall hanging to adorn your home. Your finished piece will measure approximately 14" in width and incorporate cotton rope and beautiful brass rings.
Paper Flowers Workshop
Let’s make flowers... just in time for Valentine's Day!
Learn the basic skills of sculpting paper into beautiful flowers that look fresh from the garden. Using colorful crepe paper, you will work step-by-step to create a small bouquet of rose buds, perfect for a lasting bit of decor to brighten any home, work, or special event.
Shibori & Indigo Dye Workshop
In this hands-on workshop you will learn the basics of shibori-inspired folding and binding techniques to create beautiful patterns on fabric with indigo dye. We’ll discuss setting up the vat and spend time preparing our materials for dyeing. By the end of class, we will finish the dye process and you will be amazed as the stunning one-of-a-kind patterns are unfolded and revealed!
Embroidery 101 Class
Join us to experience embroidery in a modern, approachable way that lets you relax and have fun. Over the course of the class, you'll learn the three basic stitches needed to sew up your very own Mount Hood embroidery and leave the class with a little piece of Portland ready to hang on your wall.
